My vision for Eckville is sustainable growth without losing the "small town" family atmosphere. I have enjoyed living in Eckville this time for over 40 years. I was first elected to council in a by-election in January of 1986, and became the Mayor in 1991. I continue to enjoy the best part about this position, which is the people. My personal time is spent enjoying my family and friends along with my passion for collecting all things old.

Sharon and I moved to Eckville in the Fall of 1967. At that time, I had just been appointed Vice-Principal of the Elementary School. For the next 28 year, I was a teacher and the school Administrator until retiring in 1994. In October of 1994, I successfully captured the position of Councillor in a by-election, and currently I’m completing my 15th year. During this tenure I have represented Eckville on the David Thompson Tourist Council and the Lacombe Foundation, as well as numerous local committees. In addition to my duties as Councillor, I have been a community volunteer with the Lion’s Club, Historical Society, the previous Recreation Board, and the Eckville Co-Op Board.

I am honored that the residents of Eckville have given me this opportunity to serve them as a Town Councillor. I am married to Beth Chretien (since July 1998) and we have three boys. My family and I enjoy living in Eckville and would love to see it continue to grow and be a safe place. I work for a local company, Harewaves Wireless, as an Installer for Internet and Satellite TV and as a computer repair technician. I believe that Town Council needs to focus on developing ways to make Eckville a safer place which will make it even more inviting to new businesses and families that may be looking for a place to call home. I would also like to encourage residents to get involved by sharing ideas that they feel would help Eckville to continue to grow. Send your ideas in a letter addressed to Town Council and drop it off at the Town Office.

I have lived in Eckville since 1992 with my husband Gord. We have 3 sons, Mark & Angie Landry of Sylvan Lake, Michael & Dayne Landry and grandchildren Ella and Walker of Violet Grove, and Chris of Eckville. I work full-time at the UFA in town. I have been involved with the Eckville Community Centre, Eckville Minor Hockey and Eckville Minor Baseball. I presently serve on the Eckville Library Board, Parkland Regional Library and Lacombe Regional Solid Waste Authority. I enjoy reading, walking, quadding and camping with friends. I would like to see some industrial growth in Eckville to help our town grow. Industry plus families moving into the community would be good for Eckville.

My family and I have owned Kal-Tire since 1995. I've been married to Yvette for 25 years and we have three grown children, all married, and one grandson. Having previously served on Council for 6 years I believe my experience will be a benefit to the Town. We need to make sure we are constantly re-looking at the operational costs of the town and make sure we are delivering services in a cost-effective way. We need to ensure we are taking advantage of all provincial and federal grant opportunities. We also need to keep communication with the counties surrounding our town and also the school board. One immediate concern I have is the increasing property crime in our community and surrounding area. I also believe we need to stay in close contact with, and offer as much support as possible to, the various volunteer groups in our community.

I have been a resident of Eckville for 13 yrs. I care a great deal for this community that is the home for my wife and two daughters and several members of my extended family. My desire is that Eckville remains a safe place for our children and a place that welcomes new business and sustainable growth. The economic challenges that face Central Alberta are also present in Eckville and it will take a strong unified Council to ensure progress for our town. In the face of rising costs we need to do more with less, to make Eckville a great place to live not just a good place to live. I am pleased to see that the unity I had hoped for is forming. We as a team welcome your input and your ideas. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email.

My wife Shauna and I have made Eckville our home for the past six years and feel it is a great place to raise our two children, Alyah and Aiden. We have been operating our business, Harewaves Wireless Inc., in town for the past six years and have recently opened a storefront on 53rd Avenue. I am involved in three volunteer boards in Eckville, these being the Eckville Community Hall, Eckville Emergency Management Agency, and the Municipal Planning Commission. I feel that volunteers are important in a vibrant community to keep programs running smoothly and to help to make our community a great place to live and raise a family. I have strong convictions about doing my part to build a community where I want to live and raise my family. I would like to see improvements in the quality of life in Eckville and encourage growth in health and well being related activities. I believe in good fiscal responsibility for our town and would like to see businesses grow and flourish. Thank you for your support and feel free to contact me if you have a concern you would like addressed.
